Road bike route description
Hard route with easy exit out of Malaga route over Casabermeja, Colmenar, Riogordo down to Benamargosa with an extra bonus for climbirs just after Almachar – you will be proud of that section all your life long :)
Take the road along the river to the North Exit of Malaga, direction Jardin Botanico, to take the calm and steady climbing MA 3101 till Casabermeja. Almost 30km on mid difficulcy climb to the top of 700hm. Reaching Casabermeja, descent to N 356 till Colmenar, where you have the option to break (also in Casabermeja). Continue on A 7204 till Riogordo, from where the route starts to be rolling till Benamargosa on MA 3107, an important village on the cruz of several roads. If you havent done break so far - here is the good option to feed your body, as we will start to climb again.
After having break or just wish to go fast over your torture, continue on MA 3108 direction Cutar. Just before El Borge you will reach the Pass of El Borge on 436hm. After a short descent till Almachar, your bonus is awaiting you - the MURO OF ALMACHAR.
Short climb to the roundabout and leaving the village of Almachar on the left, start climbing over 6 kilometers, which are felt as double. The "welcome" ramp of 14%, from here over the next 2 kilometers we are riding on 2-digit percentage ramps with peak of 17%. Next kilometer will give as a short break with 11%, after 8% to take "a break", to go again over 10% till reaching the top of this pass with 7% average at the end. Done! From here quite open 15km descent to Rincon de la Victoria and back on flat N340 to Malaga.
