Road bike route description
The short trip starts from Corte Ingles Marbella in the direction of Puerto Banus on the N-340. After about 3km we turn right towards A-7176 Istan. From here it goes straight on to Istan. On the left you can see the High Society Club Olivia Valere. After a few minutes we pass the well-known Tennis Club Manolo Santana and then we start for the next 12km. Up to Istan, we can expect short segments of up to 13.9% increases. At the height of Zahara de Istan you have a wonderful view of the Istan reservoir. When we arrive at the top of Istan, a sharp left curve awaits us, after which we should keep to the far right and shift down into a very easy gear, because after we turn right again immediately a small ramp awaits us. The rest of the route follows down to the El Nacimiento water source. Here you can fill up your drinking bottles with fresh cold spring water. After a short break, the same route goes back towards Marbella. Now you can enjoy the descent. A little tip for adrenaline junkies: Shortly before the end of the whole downhill there is a bridge under which we pass. From here you can reach speeds of up to 116km/h (Strava record).
