Puerto del Barco (830 m.a.s.l.) – one of many hidden passes between somewhat unnamed villages scattered between plenty of peaks around Malaga Province, to tell the truth, this is one of my personal Top 10! Already visible when coming to Villanueva de la Concepcion, at the end of the climb to the village, take the direction for the village and the pass of the same name, Puerto el Barco, later to village Villanueva del Cauche and then a short descent to the valley, and the pass is ahead of you.
A recently rebuilt asphalt road shows it's the hardest part since the first few meters. A hard incline between olive trees could help you to forget your muscle pain. After 2km comes an easier part of the climb where you will reach a village where there are nothing except nice views all around you. You will love it!!!
