Road bike route description
Short route to the west side of Malaga with nice climb to Mijas Pueblo (village) - one of the beautists white villages on Costa del Sol.
Go to Port of Malaga and turn right on Paseo Maritimo - you can also use the bike lanes on the beach promenade. Warm up phase till end of Malaga. Go with traffic till Bauhaus to turn right to Airport on N-340 - and after 1km take exit to Churriana (A-404, Carretera de Coin). Leave behind Alhaurin de la Torre to cycle to Alhaurin el Grande on the same A-404 – continue ascending to 200hm and then 300hm right after Alhaurin el Grande, to turn left to A-387 to Mijas (village, not the Mijas Costa). Stop in Mijas for a Coffee, as you did already over 40km and the views are just amazing! One of the cafes at the main scare are good for coffee / break.
From Mijas descend direction Benalmadena Pueblo (not Costa) on A-368. Amazing views, fast descents and maybe more dense traffic are awaiting you on this part of the route. BUT: passing wonderful Stupa of Enlightenment (the biggest one in South Europe). Arroyo de la Miel and Torremolinos are on your way back to Malaga, where you have to join the N-340a and then take the exit on MA-22 to finish entering Malaga.
