We have designed road bike tours with varying levels of difficulty utilizing a combination of distance, gained elevation, gradient on hills and average speed. Using this method, you can find the most appropriate tour for you. Keep in mind that the indication of levels is based on our own experience with our customers and can vary from your subjective perception.
Leisure
Active vacationers or leisurely riders who want to cycle easily while enjoying the wonderful scenery of the Malaga region. Enough time to take photos and have a coffee.
Distance: up to 80 km
Gained elevation: up to 800 m
Average speed: 18–22 km/h
Hobby
Fit and adventurous riders who are not interested in racing or being competitive, but still appreciate a good challenge. Must be able to ride for 2 hours non-stop at moderate pace.
Distance: 80–110 km
Gained elevation: up to 1200 m
Average speed: 20–24 km/h
Sport
Competitive amateur cyclists who practice regularly on long rides at a fast pace with a weekly regime. Challenging climbs and technical descents are guaranteed.
Distance: over 100 km
Gained elevation: over 1600 m
Average speed: 22–28 km/h

Vias Verdes Bike Tours
Greenways (Vias Verdes in Spanish) are unused railway tracks which have now become hiking and cycling tracks. There are more than 6000 kms of abandoned railway lines across Spain and two of the most beautiful Vias Verdes you can find are not far from Malaga. We at bike2malaga invite you to discover the remote and original corners of Andalusia – an extraordinary cycling experience that will last a lifetime in your memory!
You choose the route! We bring you among the bicycles to the starting point of the route and prepare you for your cycle. Once finished, we will be waiting at the end point of the route to pick you up with your bike and return to Malaga. The routes are well indicated, so we encourage you to do the route on your own, without a guide, but we also have the option to ride the route with a guide to accompany you during the tour.
Vias Verdes are the perfect options to explore untouched Andalusia in a one day cycling trip for individuals, families and small groups!

Top 10 mountain passes you 'should not miss' when cycling in Malaga Region
It was not easy to choose 'the best', 'the most beautiful', or 'the hardest' mountain passes around to have them shown to all mad cyclists coming to punish themselves here in the south of Spain, in Andalusia. Finally we have decided to include some nice sections from Malaga Province, and only those that I like very much.
The other passes, for example, Puerto del Sol, La Mina or Muro de Comares, can be found on the web or ask local riders. These passes are not worse or less impressive, we just have too many of them to choose from!

If your location is outside of our region, just contact us for a quote. Our quoted prices apply to delivery and pick up for up to 50 rented bikes. Need more bikes? Get in touch with us!

It was the year 2007 when the idea to establish the first bike rental in Malaga dedicated to cyclists around the world was born. Back then, you could hardly find 10 locals on bikes in Malaga city, and literally, all the cyclists knew each other. It's incredible to see how much has happened since then and Malaga has become a cycling hot spot in high demand. bike2malaga is proud to have played an important role in this great development. Although we constantly grow our number of bikes and the types that we offer, by our number of bike tours we organize and also by our geographical spread of cycling trips across Europe, we still consider ourselves as a 0 kilometer enterprise. Malaga is still our home base! We live here, we cycle here and even though we know the region well, we are still discovering the beauty of this place and its people.

Drawing from our experience, the most comfortable bikes for exploring Andalusia are trekking bikes or electric trekking bikes, with multiple adjustment settings and accessories for comfortable riding and luggage transport.
For our cycling tours in Andalusia, we offer high-quality trekking bikes, durable and proven through numerous journeys. Our potent e-bikes are equipped with Bosch motors, featuring the latest technology and powerful batteries. They come fully prepared with all the necessities for a bike journey in the South of Spain. In case you are traveling light or want to enjoy more velocity during your journey, or simply prefer other types of bikes, we also have various bicycle models available, such as gravel bikes, road bikes, or mountain bikes. We also offer a wide choice of electric bikes, including E-MTBs and the latest generation of E-Bike Crossovers. For bikes that don't have a luggage rack installed, we rent luggage extensions to transport bags up to 10kg. We have a complete fleet for every preference and multiple solutions for any request – feel free to ask if you don't find what you want.
